This Epistolary Bibliography is based on the publications of the National Historical Institute, namely Letters between Rizal and Family Members (1876-1896), Rizal’s Correspondence with Fellow Reformists, Miscellaneous Correspondence of Dr. Jose Rizal, The Rizal-Blumentritt Correspondence Volumes I and II, and One Hundred Letters of Jose Rizal to his Parents, Brothers, Sisters and Relatives. These books, on the other hand, used the first bibliography of Rizal’s letters, particularly that of Teodoro M. Kalaw – Epistolario Rizalino Volumes I to V (Manila: Bureau of Printing, 1938) – and other letters in the possession of Rizal family members as references. Unlike the bibliographies mentioned in which letters were arranged thematically, Filipiniana.net’s list of Rizal’s Correspondence is arranged chronologically. Each letter is supplied with its own reference numbers, called Filnet Number on Rizal’s Correspondence (FNRC), to make it easier for readers to do researches and to allot space for yet unknown and unpublished letters of Rizal.
